I mean, do we have a term for people beyond ultra right-wing? Is there an “über, super-duper, mega supremo right-wing” term for guys like this? Gotta give him props for not being afraid of saying what’s on his mind, no matter how bizarre.

Democrat for Senate: Kill practicing ‘gays’

Candidate says incumbent Republican not advocating biblical values enough

A Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Ohio wants to make homosexual behavior a capital crime punishable by the death penalty.

Merrill Keiser Jr. is a trucker with no political experience, but he hopes to beat fellow Democrat Rep. Sherrod Brown in the May primary. The winner will try to unseat Republican incumbent Sen. Mike DeWine, assuming he wins the GOP primary.

“Just like we have laws against murder, we have laws against stealing, we have laws against taking drugs – we should have laws against immoral conduct,” Keiser told WTOL-TV in Toledo.

Keiser, 61, says he’s running as a Democrat because that’s how he was registered the last time he voted.

The trucker, who hails from Fremont, Ohio, says there needs to be more adherence to biblical values in government, business and education – something he claims DeWine is not promoting.

“I believe that the United States has been moved in a Godless direction by the courts,” he told the Sandusky Register. “To get good men on the court, we need good senators.”

Some of Keiser’s other positions include defense of the Second Amendment, securing U.S. borders, lower taxes to stimulate the economy, support of Israel and prayer in public schools.

Keiser told the Register the United States should make conversion to Christianity part of the war on terror to teach Muslims the error of their choice in religion.

The candidate also decries evolution, saying it is contrary to the Declaration of Independence.

“The teaching of evolution works against the liberties we have in the United States,” he told the paper. If a person believe in evolution, he or she “has no rights,” he’s quoted saying.

Well, found out yesterday that it’s still not over. Despite what my HR department told me Friday (”We’ll get it taken care of, don’t worry about it”), it’s still not fixed. And my HR department has done a complete 180. It’s astonishing to me that people think it’s ok to treat other people this way. This is not good business.

A renowned psychiatrist from UC Irvine was duped into squandering at least $1.3 million of his family’s fortune on a Nigeria Internet scam, according to a lawsuit recently filed by his son.

The son, also an Orange County doctor, said his father — Dr. Louis A. Gottschalk — gave as much as $3 million over a 10-year period in response to an Internet plea that promised the doctor a generous cut of a huge sum of cash trapped in African bank accounts in exchange for money advances.

    South Dakota nears abortion ban

Monday, February 27, 2006; Posted: 10:49 a.m. EST (15:49 GMT)

PIERRE, South Dakota (AP) — State lawmakers voted Friday to ban nearly all abortions in South Dakota and sent the measure to the governor, who said he is inclined to sign it.

Under the legislation, doctors in South Dakota would face up to five years in prison for performing an abortion unless it was necessary to save the woman’s life……

…..The new restriction would become law July 1.

Opponents of the bill argued that abortion should at least be allowed in cases involving rape, incest and a threat to a woman’s health.

If a woman who is raped becomes pregnant, the rapist would have the same rights to the child as the mother, said Krista Heeren-Graber, executive director of the South Dakota Network Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault.

“The idea the rapist could be in the child’s life … makes the woman very, very fearful. Sometimes they need to have choice,” Heeren-Graber said.

This is completely absurd. So if a woman gets raped, not only can she not get an abortion, but then the rapist can have parental rights? I have trouble believing that even in this day and age any American could be so backward.
