Found (Part 1)

It seems like every time we sort through things at my parents' house, I find something new to me. This weekend's finds included my mom's old transistor radio, a tiny Ball jar with handle, and a box of old photos that I've never seen before (including the one above of my parents the first summer they were married. it was tinted all red, but my dad's awesome mustache is hiding in there).

The little black and white photos are from my dad's childhood album, which made me laugh and almost tear up at the same time as he described all of the pictures he himself hadn't seen in probably 20 years. I'll save those for another post.

I like when you share these things with us - no chance of ever finding something vintage at my home so it's interesting to see what others unearth

Those are some pretty cool finds. Especially the photos. Are you going to do some photo restoration on them in photoshop to see what they originally looked like?

It's amazing to go through treasures (and, sometimes trash too) from generations older than our own. I could sit for hours sorting through belongings of my parents and grandparents.

Oh my gosh... I love this. There is nothing better than finding little treasures like this that have so much history behind them. Especially when they also uncover old memories. :)

That ball jar with handle is just gorgeous. Must be so fun to be able to find things like these at your parents' place. Probably the best treasure trove there is.
