sunshine everyday

This photo from the r.i.p.
domino website makes me want to drop everything and grab a paint brush and a can of yellow paint.

I like

This dress is over $200! But it is so lovely.

simple ways to make the husband happy

I recently did a wedding shower for a friend, and we gave away little IBC cream sodas as favors. Since then, I have been constantly in the mood for them, as well as craving root beer floats. Since root beer floats are one of the best ways to make my husband happy, I am so making them to celebrate when he gets back from his training next weekend. And I guess since he can't check this blog until he returns, it will be our little secret. Shh.

I'll pretend like we're sitting in these cute little parlor chairs while we have our delicious floats.

lovely

I know this wedding photo has been all over the internet already, but I came across it again. Need I say more?

Purgatory Pie Press

I picked up some good books at the library the other day. I'm trying to learn how to bind my own books. Check out this cool book design and letterpress printing company, Purgatory Pie Press. I'm using their book, How to Make Books to teach myself how to do Coptic binding for making sketchbooks. Here are some other photos of PPP's latest how-to books, as well as some of the creations they show in their books - that is, photos from their books about making books. Yeah.

one of these, please

I'm visiting my parents for a few days while my husband is off saving the world (well, training to, anyway). I'm going to check out the surplus store at Michigan State, looking for another bike. I have one that I want to keep here at my parents', so I'd like another but don't want to spend a lot of money. Would love to find one like these.

Of course, I would probably need to get a cute little basket to go with it. Maybe even a little dog, too?

sneak peek: going green in october

I do event planning with an awesome work partner, Carrie. She may get mentioned on here, oh, once or twice. We have a potential bride looking to do an eco-friendly wedding in October. So I've been doing some research. I found this nice blog earth friendly weddings. Adding it to my list today. Oh, and here's what I've gathered thus far:

What's October without a trip to the apple orchard? That's what this makes me think of (okay, a very picturesque apple orchard).

I really like this new inspiration board from Snippet & Ink. This would be refreshing in October - green and pink with just a little yellow and orange. We probably can't count on having it outdoors here in Michigan since October is so unpredictable, though.

I just like her hair.

Too bad we need to buy a lawn mower for our house. I would much rather buy this.

And this.
